Context
A street is a composition.
Vendors, bells, calls, engines, footfall — each street carries an auditory signature as specific as its architecture. When streets transform, that signature is lost without record.
Process
Ambisonic capture in the field.
Recordings are made with a first-order ambisonic array and decoded for binaural and spatial playback. Each session is paired with photographs, location notes, and a written observation.
Outcomes
An open sonic archive.
The project will publish a navigable web archive of locations and recordings, alongside a set of essays on listening, place, and disappearance.
